Bond Drew

Drew Bond is a mission-driven entrepreneur and thought leader at the nexus of energy innovation and economic freedom with deep experience at the highest levels of leadership in business, government, and nonprofits.

Drew serves as Co-founder, Chairman & CEO of PowerField Energy, a Virginia-based company that manufactures the PowerRack, a patented, highly engineered and yet simple installation system for solar arrays of any scale. The PowerRack makes installing solar faster, easier, more affordable, versatile, and more sustainable than ever. He also serves as Co-founder, Chairman & CEO of C3 Solutions, a nonprofit public policy educational organization dedicated to accelerating energy innovation and expanding economic freedom to address our world’s greatest climate, energy and environment challenges. C3 Solutions also operates a growing online newsmagazine called “C3” that is dedicated to promoting free market solutions for climate, energy and the environment.

Drew has led multiple technology startup companies, raised seed and venture capital, and led the successful development and commercialization of more than 50 patents in the US and internationally. Prior to his current roles at PowerField Energy and C3 Solutions, he led in2lytics, a data analytics company providing grid resiliency software and services to electricity utilities; Versa, a Battelle spinout company with a patented “micro refinery” waste-to-energy technology; and, an online media company dedicated to free-market ideas.

His public policy and technology commercialization experience includes serving as: Senior Fellow and Director of Energy Innovation Policy at the American Council for Capital Formation; Vice President at Battelle for Energy & Environment Technology Commercialization and Public Policy; being appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as Senior Advisor for Technology Commercialization at the U.S. Department of Energy in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy; as Chief of Staff at The Heritage Foundation under Edwin J. Feulner; Chief of Staff for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Denise Bode; and Legislative Assistant to United States Senator Don Nickles of Oklahoma.

Drew also serves on the Board of Directors for Group NIRE, a technology testing, demonstration and commercialization company based in Lubbock, TX; and the Institute for Responsible Citizenship, a nonprofit educational organization with the primary goal of inspiring and equipping the nation’s best and brightest African American men to use their extraordinary talents to serve others.

Drew earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Oklahoma and Executive Education in Finance at the Wharton School of Business.

He and his wife, Melanie, are blessed to have six children, have been able to provide foster care to dozens of children who they consider to be a part of their extended family, and are active in their church and community. In all of his spare time, Drew enjoys spending time with his family friends - including hiking, rock climbing, playing Bridge and other card games, golf, tennis, ping pong, CrossFit, and sitting around the fire with friends.
